This book is not what it was billed to be because it does NOT "shows you how to build and safely operate...mechatronic equipment." Instead, this book is best used to impart a broad overview familiarization of CNC terminology and systems to a new manager or a sales rep who has very little knowledge of CNC and needs to be able to communicate coherently with the actual CNC operators. For example, the chapter on "Programming of CNC Machines" is only 15 pages long!! I am not a machinist nor have I ever worked in that field.
Great if you want to build or adapt a CNC machine. Does have some basic terminology that is helpful to beginner USERS of a CNC machine. I was really looking for a CNC manual that explains a bit better than the non-existent user manuals that come (or don't) with CNC routers. It was helpful but most of the content directed at builders, not users. I will keep looking...or write one!
