I was a practitioner in my 20s and am just coming back to The Path now in my 40s, and have been looking everywhere for a book that resonates with me and my current reality. Books have a way of magically dropping into your lap when you need them, don't they. This has been that book for me.I preordered for Kindle, and at midnight, right when the book dropped, my furnace went out and woke me up, and I spent the wee hours reading through the first sections of this book. I SO appreciate that the author starts off with a focus on Root Work, that she understands and underscores the fact that the practitioner is the magic, that without digging deep and excavating and owning our true selves we can never produce truly effective magic.I also appreciate how clearly she has outlined the meditative practice, rituals, and spells, using simple ingredients with many options so that one can customize it to one's own practice. They truly feel like rites one can easily weave into the fabric of their day-to-day life, and I look forward to finishing the book and delving into all it has to offer more deeply. I will definitely return to share more once I have done so.In short, I can see this book being useful for both the beginner and the seasoned witch. And of course, also for someone like me, who had fallen away from their practice and is looking to brush off the cobwebs and dip their toe into those magical waters once more. It feels like a timely gift from the universe, and I am very grateful to the author for all the time, care, magic and love she has clearly poured into it.
...a Must Have!! I purchased this book the day I found out Juliet Diaz was publishing it; and was so excited to receive it this week!! She is such an open-minded, thoughtful, respectful, & knowledgeable guide and healer! She uses her gifts to help many others, and yet, is so respectful of her heritage and teachers. I LOVE that her book spends a bit of time with Root Work, which I believe is so important, and includes suggestions and guides to get connected with, and use, our inner strengths. I could barely put it down when I received it.I'm older, and have been practicing for some time, but this little addition to my library brings a beautifully different approach to the craft, with her being Cuban. She's so lovely! I really believe this book is for ALL of us....beginners... and seasoned crones. You just can't go wrong with this book!! Highly, Highly recommend!! Many blessings to you all...
I went with my intuition on this book since I have been studying witchcraft for 30 years and alot books for me are geared towards beginners or nonsense. Witchery starts where it should - self awareness and acceptance of yourself. I think all levels of witches can benefit from what you will find in the pages of this beautifully written book. The cover alone brings a calmness with it's feel and design.
I’ve been practicing since I was a young girl, I’ve always known and I’ve always soaked up as much knowledge as I possibly can. I’m an attendee of the author’s school and purchase from her online shop. When she said she was working on a book last year I preordered immediately and I’m glad I did!!! I’ve started reading right away (following Juliet’s instructions first) and I’m absolutely consumed. Even with what I know, there was still much to learn. It’s a definite must read and companion to your practice!!! Definitely purchase if you are thinking about it, you won’t be disappointed!!!
Beautiful design to the cover, makes me feel I own a fancy special first edition that will someday be a prized possession on my altar or shelf in my far away later years. The size and weight of the book is perfect for carrying it on self or purse and not feel to bulky. But let me tell you about the smoothness, I catch myself enticed to touching my book or just laying my hands on the skin of it, perhaps this is the profound personal connection I have with my book. Juliet Diaz’s words are kindred, wise, and inviting and seem to know a place in my soul that I myself still seek to find. I have only read about one quarter and already have satisfaction with my purchase and the time given in reading. In all honesty “Witchery: Embrace The Witch Within†has been far more therapeutic then months of professional counseling. So thank you Juliet for sharing your knowledge for that.Now, the unexpected but pleasant surprise that came along with this book: a community of like minded, soul searching men and women to share together in this journey. I discovered the book after listening to a podcast interviewing Juliet Diaz. She was wonderful and I adored her genuinity, which led me to purchase her book on pre-sale. Along with this was the invitation to join her Facebook group and a livestream 3 week mini companion! Juliet you are a genius!!! Since joining I have discovered a wonderful group and so thrilled to continue on this Pagan path.Good to know...Juliet’s book is not affiliated with any one certain tradition, Craft, religion. It is non-judgmental and accepting of however one may come. Nothing but love and knowledge.
